Were you music loving in your youth? Taping your favourite band’s appearances, meticulously cataloging your collection, and maybe making some of your own?  Australia-based artist Dane Lovett seems to know where you’re coming from. His super realistic paintings are a testament to his attention to detail—the ridges along the edge of a CD case and a reflection off the top, peeling, handwritten labels on VHS tapes, an old keyboard… Looking at his works, you might think someone went into your bedroom in the mid-90s and set up a sample from your entertainment collection into a still life, to paint.
