As an artist working under the pseudonym “Miso,” Stanislava Pinchuk, originally from Ukraine, has become one of the headliners of the Australian art scene. Currently based in Melbourne, she started creating tattoos about four years ago. Her tattoos are minimalistic, delicate and remind us of the constellations in the night sky, maps, and organic forms perforated on paper. The first time she created a tattoo was on one of her friends. “I did half a tattoo on my best friend, who is a tattooist. He did the other half. It’s still looking pretty good, considering!” says Stanislava. In addition to the designs, her process is also interesting as she only tattoos her friends, and friends of her friends, and instead of being paid money, she arranges a creative exchange; learning something new, getting a book, having someone cook a nice dinner, or simply sharing a bottle of wine!
