Ever looked at a hot dog and giggled to yourself? From its phallic shape to its slight bend and bounce, there’s no denying its suggestiveness, especially if you’re in your early teen years. Or maybe you never grew out of it. Artist Aurel Schmidt goes the slightly more sophisticated route by using vegetables to reimagine body parts, rather than the crude and easier route of processed foods. Some of her images are more polite than others, such as the elbow napa cabbage, or the toe ginger. Others get a little more graphic, like the banana (you can guess what body part is involved), and the mammary melon. Just a reminder than a dirty mind never gets old (even if you do).
