Babeth Lafon‘s illustrations feel French. The pastel blues are reminiscent of the periwinkle shade found all over the south of France. The still lifes, accoutrements of women impossibly glamorous; leave it to the French to give even drafting paper their je ne sais quoi. Even her branded perfume bottles, already works of art in their original form, are infused with whimsy in their illustrated state. It’s hard to deny there’s a certain Gallic flair to her work. So while she’s currently based in Berlin, it shouldn’t surprise you to learn that she graduated in Paris with a degree in design. Refined, yet playful and approachable, her art is a reflection of the modern lifestyle many of us aspire to.
