Kark Lagerfeld presented the 2015-2016 Chanel Pre-Fall collection in the city of Salzburg, Austria. This city, known as the jewel of baroque architecture and the backdrop for The Sound of Music, was the natural choice to host the 13th Métiers dArt show. This special collection is presented every year in December, in a city related to the history of the House of Chanel, and serves as a stage to celebrate the craftsmanship of Chanels artisans.
The show took place at the Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron, a rococo palace. Lagerfeld revisited the dirndl, the lederhosen and other traditional Austrian and Tyrolean styles, to create a collection that is mixes traditional alpine elements infused with an aristocratic old-world charm, filled with feathers, ribbons, ruffles, embroidery, turtlenecks and cape jackets.
